Frequently Asked Question's
Q. Why do you offer complimentary engagement sessions?
A. If I have to have your wedding date available, and you are willing to sit down with me for a wedding consultation, I’ll offer you a complimentary engagement session. It is very important to me to meet face to face with each Bride & Groom so I can get a feel for your style, needs & wants. Ultimately, I need to make sure that I am a good match for you. After your wedding consultation, we’ll set an appointment for your engagement session. You will get to keep the digital files. This gives you a great opportunity to see how I work and also to see the quality I provide.
Q. Do you restrict the amount of time you’re willing to spend photographing a wedding?
A. All of my wedding packages include full day coverage from 10am to 9pm. I always set aside the entire day so I can completely focus on you and your once in a lifetime event! Often I begin photographing the bride in the morning hours getting salon treatments (hair, makeup, etc.) and continue throughout the day until we have captured all of the events at the reception..
Q. Do I get a print release with any of your wedding packages?
A. Every one of my wedding packages includes your right to print & share images from your event.
Q. I want to book with you! How do I reserve my wedding date?
A. There is a $500 (non-refundable) deposit to set aside your wedding day. 100% of your deposit is applied to your total balance.
Q. My wedding isn’t in Missoula.. What are your travel fees?
A. I am willing to travel within a 30 mile radius of Missoula, MT at no additional cost. A $1/mile travel fee, round trip, outside of the allotted 30 mile radius from Missoula will be added to your total wedding investment. If you are having a “destination wedding”, please contact me for destination travel arrangements.
Q. Are there one or two photographers at Hixson Studio?
A. Jacob is the photographer & editor at Hixson Studio. When a second photographer is requested, his wife Brittany will fill that need. If Brittany is unavailable, a second photographer will be hired to assist Jacob.
Q. How does payment work?
A. After the $500 Deposit is paid to reserve your wedding day, the remaining balance is due in full two weeks prior to your wedding day. Photographs will not be released until payment in full has been settled.
Q. After you shoot my wedding, can I expect to get my edited wedding pictures?
A. I understand your excitement! From my own experience, when I rush through wedding images, the end result is not up to its full potential. As the photographer, there is quite a bit of “behind the scenes” stress & responsibility that goes along with photographing & delivering a once in a lifetime event. There are no “re-do’s” for this kind of thing.. My intention is to get your images to you between 2-3 weeks. I don’t always meet that goal, BUT .. I always deliver quality.
Q. After my wedding, will you be keeping my images on file?
A. I intend to keep all finished client images on file. However, I cannot guarantee that I will always keep images on file in the years to come. My liability ends once you have initially obtained the digital files from your wedding. It is highly recommend that you keep a copy of your digital files in multiple locations (online backup, multiple computers, hard drives, flash drives, etc.) to ensure their existence over time.
Q. I have some more questions but they are not listed here..
A. You can ask any questions you may have by visiting my contact page, or by calling Jacob at (406) 531-3556. I look forward to talking with you!
