Q. Why do you offer complimentary engagement sessions?
A. If I have to have your wedding date available, and you are willing to sit down with me for a wedding consultation, I’ll offer you a complimentary engagement session.  It is very important to me to meet face to face with each Bride & Groom so I can get a feel for your style, needs & wants. Ultimately, I need to make sure that I am a good match for you.  After your wedding consultation, we’ll set an appointment for your engagement session. You will get to keep the digital files.  This gives you a great opportunity to see how I work and also to see the quality I provide.

Q. Do you restrict the amount of time you’re willing to spend photographing a wedding?
A. All of my wedding packages include full day coverage from 9am to 9pm.  I always set aside the entire day so I can completely focus on you and your once in a lifetime event!  Often I begin photographing the bride in the morning hours getting salon treatments (hair, makeup, etc.) and continue throughout the day until we have captured all of the events at the reception..

Q. Do I get a print release with any of your wedding packages?
A. Every one of our wedding packages includes your right to print and share images from your event.  Our prints & canvas gallery wraps are among the highest quality in the industry, so when you place your order, you can have the confidence that you are receiving the best when you order prints through me!

Q. I want to book with you! How do I reserve my wedding date?
A. There is a $1000 (non-refundable) deposit to set aside your wedding day.  100% of your deposit is applied to your total balance.

Q. My wedding isn’t in Missoula.. What are your travel fees?
A. I am willing to travel within a 30 mile radius of Missoula, MT at no additional cost. A $1/mile travel fee, round trip, outside of the allotted 30 mile radius from Missoula will be added to your total wedding investment.  If you are having a “destination wedding”, please contact me for further details as the previous statement will not apply.

Q. Are there one or two photographers at Hixson Studio?
A. Jacob is the photographer and editor of Hixson Studio. His wife Brittany often shoots weddings with him.  If Brittany is unavailable, a second photographer will be hired to assist Jacob. There will always be two photographers present on your wedding day (weather it’s Brittany or a hired assistant) unless there has been a previous agreement for Jacob to photograph the wedding by himself.

Q. How does payment work?
A. After the $1000 Deposit is paid to reserve your wedding day, the remaining balance is due in full two weeks prior to your wedding day.

Q. After you shoot my wedding, when will I get my edited wedding pictures?
A. Average turn around time is 2-3 weeks.  After you receive your wedding images, I will go to work on creating your Album.

Q. After it’s all said and done, will you be keeping my wedding images on file?
A. It is in our own best interest as a business, to keep all finished images on file.  However, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to keep your wedding images on file in the years to come.  Our liability ends once you have initially obtained the digital files from your session.  We highly recommend that you keep a copy of your digital files in multiple locations (online backup, multiple computers, hard drives, flash drives, etc.) to ensure their existence over longer periods of time.
